Position Overview

J+H Automation Solutions is seeking Field Installation Technicians (Level 1 and Level 2) to join our Millwright/Field Installation team. This role supports the installation of conveyor systems, custom machinery, and automated equipment at customer sites.

This is a hands-on, travel-intensive position working in industrial environments. Technicians work under experienced field leadership to install complex systems and contribute to high-impact automation projects.

Where you'll work: travel is primarily within the Midwest, Arkansas, Oklahoma, and Texas, with occasional assignments in the Eastern and Southeastern United States — typically 1–3 weeks at a time, with paid travel time and per diem.

Level Structure & Pay

Level 1

Entry-Level Technician

$18–$21 / hour

  • Basic mechanical aptitude required
  • Familiarity with hand and power tools preferred
  • Willingness to learn and work in industrial environments
  • Strong reliability and work ethic

Level 2

Installation Technician

$21–$25 / hour

  • Experience with mechanical assembly and installation preferred
  • Background in conveyors, material handling, or industrial equipment is a plus
  • Ability to read and follow blueprints and layouts
  • Demonstrated safety awareness and job site experience

Key Responsibilities

  • Install conveyor systems and custom industrial equipment
  • Perform mechanical assembly and equipment setup
  • Assist with rigging and movement of heavy equipment
  • Support welding and basic fabrication activities as needed
  • Assist with electrical connections and system integration as required
  • Read and interpret blueprints, layouts, and technical drawings
  • Operate lifts and work safely at heights
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe job site
  • Travel to project sites, typically 1–3 weeks at a time

Qualifications

  • Mechanical aptitude required
  • Prior industrial or construction experience is recommended, but not required
  • J+H Automation Solutions provides on-the-job training for motivated candidates
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and perform physically demanding work
  • Comfortable working at heights and in industrial settings
  • Willingness to travel extensively (1–3 weeks at a time)
  • Strong teamwork, communication, and work ethic
  • Ability to follow direction and learn in a fast-paced environment

Requirements
